Nothing’s Better Than quick card

Hi Crafty Pals,

Sometimes you need to make a quick card as you forgot a birthday, a get well or a just because card to cheer someone up and I think this one fits in that category.

When the new annual catalogue arrived and I saw the Nothing’s Better Than bundle it went straight to the top of my list. I love chocolate (as my students would be able to tell you), I love cookies and I quite like coffee, but being from the UK tea is definitely my preferred choice. The cups in the stamp set can hold tea or hot chocolate too right!

So getting back to the chocolate and the card – I stamped the outside of the chocolate with Cajun Craze and the the inside with Crumb Cake, but I stamped on scrap paper first so the colour was a lighter shade. Inking up the stamp and then stamping on a piece of scrap paper first is a technique called stamping off and it is a great way to add lighter shades to projects.

I wanted to add something else and I think the little stars add an extra bit of interest without being sparkly as I am not really a glittery person.

If I had the opportunity to spend a bit more time and wanted to make it a ‘stepped up’ card I could have stamped the word chocolate all over the background (stamping off first), die cut the word chocolate with the die from the Love You More Than set and finally pop them up with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals or the foam sheets. If I wanted to add a bit of sparkle some of the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots or the gold option from the Metallic Pearls would be a great coordinating choice with the other colours in the card.

I am so glad I got the bundle as for me it is so versatile when thinking about my family and friends. Not forgetting and best of all if you buy the stamp set and dies together as the Nothing’s Better Than bundle you get 10% off.

Have fun creating

Cute Fruit Thank You card

Hi Crafty Pals,

I hope you have had the opportunity to get creative recently. The weather here cooled off a little bit last week, but has got warm again so I am glad to be inside and doing some crafting in the cool.

I love my Stampin’ Up!® products, but have been working on a back to school project so now that is done I have a card to share today.

I created this card with one of the sets from the flyer that accompanies the 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalogue. The flyer has stamps and card layouts that may be a great starting place for beginner stampers. I love this set as you can make such a cheerful card with just a few colours of ink (or even colour straight on the stamps with markers).

The orange slices in the picture are using the same ink colour (Pumpkin Pie), but for the centre once I had inked it I stamped on some scrap paper before I stamped on the project. I coloured the seeds for my watermelon slices with the black marker, but if you wanted to do an orange, lemon or lime slice you could just leave them if you wanted.

Dressed To Impress kindness card

Hi Crafty Pals,

I have had my Stampin’ Blends for a while, but have not been brave enough to try them out until recently. I shouldn’t have waited so long as they are easy to use and there are so many videos available.

I wanted to make a card that used the Dressed To Impress Photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating All Dressed Up dies. One of the dies in the set can be used to make a 3D handbag/purse/backpack and being as I love making boxes, bags etc it was a definite must have for me.

I stamped the images with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White Thick cardstock and then coloured them in using the Stampin’ Blends.

I hope you like my card and if you are interested in any of the products used today you can visit my online store (or click on the images shown below). If you live in Canada I would love to have the opportunity to be your Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator.

Have fun crafting
