Oh, Hello – Motivating Monday

Hi Crafty Pals,

I think Monday is probably my favourite day for blogging as I really enjoy trying to meet the challenges from different groups each week. This week I’ve chosen to participate in the Paper Craft Crew Challenge  #41 and the Paper Players Colour Challenge #145.

Paper Players Mother’s day challenge

Hi Craft Pals,

Paper Players gave us a challenge this week to make something for Mother’s Day.

Secret Garden stamp card

I’d just bought the Secret Garden bundle and it is so suitable for my mum so I just hope she likes it. She is quite lucky as she gets 2 mother’s days as the UK celebrates on a different day to Canada.

Happy Mother’s Day mum hope you have a great one.

I am trying to use up all my retiring card stock so fortunately Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink are both spring like and retiring.

Ingredients

Designer Series Paper and Card Stock: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink

Stamps: Secret Garden and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Punches/Die Cuts: Bitty Butterfly, Secret Garden Framelits, Ticket Duo and Adorning Accents Edgelits

Something old, something new…

Hi Crafty Pals,

Despite the title this post isn’t about wedding cards it’s an entry for the Paper Players Challenge #142 where you had to make a one layer card.

Why weddings?

Something old – retiring inks

Something new – Best of Butterflies (my newest set)

Something borrowed – the masking technique to make the background flowers

Something blue – Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy

Best of Butterflies

It is actually a birthday card for my aunt, but the greeting has been masked by the watermark.

I finished my photobox, but still haven’t found a suitable stand for taking my photos and one day I will remember not to take them in the evening as the light downstairs isn’t as good and make sure the flash fires!

Ingredients

Designer Series Paper and Card Stock: Whisper White

Stamps: Best of Butterflies and Teeny Tiny Wishes

Punches/Die Cuts: Blossom

Classic Stampin’ Pad®: Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy

Happy Birthday

Hi Crafty Pals,

This is the last of my challenge cards this week, but probably my favourite.

My sons teacher has a birthday this week so it’s nice to know that the challenge card will be appreciated by someone soon rather than sitting in my drawer.

I am entering this card in the Dynamic Duos #46 colour challenge and the Stampin’ Royalty #169 sketch challenge.

Utah Divas and Try Stampin’ on Tuesday

Hi Crafty Pals,

Me again with another challenge I had the time to do over the weekend. For this card I combined two challenges Utah Divas International colour #127 and Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #111.

It is my first time with either of these challenges so I hope my card isn’t too bad.

It’s funny, but sometimes I make a project and I’m jumping up and down over it and sometimes I’m on the fence, but even those are good learning experiences. I look at what I’d do differently, what I like about it and what parts were tricky.

Paper Craft Crew #35

Hi Crafty Pals,

I’ve been a very busy girl over the last few days trying my hand at a few challenges. You know that I always try to do the Paper Craft Crew Challenge and was super pleased with the way my sketch turned out this week.

The sketch we had for inspiration this week was

Paper Craft Crew #35

My creativity came up with

Paper Craft Crew Betsy's Blossoms

I really liked the card I made for Valentines which had a cut out on the front and then framed the aperture so I decided to use that technique for this challenge.

I know that the paper on the right isn’t lined up exactly, but by the time I realised the SNAIL had stuck it was too late to change it. The angle of the photo doesn’t help either so I am planning to finish my ‘photo box’ and buy a card/plate stand this week hopefully it’ll mean the photos turn out looking better.

Ingredients

Designer Series Paper and Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Very Vanilla and Print Poetry

Stamps: Betsy’s Blossoms, Mixed Bunch and A Little Greeting

Punches/Die Cuts: Ovals Collection Framelits and 1″ circle

Classic Stampin’ Pad®: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit

Accessories: Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit

I hope you like my card, if you do please go and vote for it before Friday lunchtime.

Have fun getting inky, I certainly did this week!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #34

Hi Crafty Pals,

You know I am really enjoying playing along in the Paper Craft Crew Challenges and I was so pleased to be a featured artisan for sketch #32.

The sketch they gave us for inspiration this week is

PCC sketch 34

and I came up with

My PCC entry challenge 34

I wanted to make a masculine card that could be used for multiple occasions and add a greeting to later as my ‘just in case’ stock pile was getting low.

So as you can see it’ll be very easy to add a quick greeting to the bottom right of the card. I had to add the extra mat behind the leaves as I stamped them on the Naturals Ivory Card Stock and they blended into the background too much.

Ingredients

Designer Series Paper and Card Stock: Naturals Ivory, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Parker’s Patterns

Stamps: French Foliage

Punches/Die Cuts: Apothecary Accents Framelits and Finishing Touches Edgelits

Classic Stampin’ Pad®: Crumb Cake

Accessories: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

I hope you like my card and don’t forget to vote between Wednesday and Friday lunchtime this week.

Have fun getting inky
