Typing for my challenges

Hi Crafty Pals,

I got out one of my favourite sets today to use in my challenge entries. I really like Tap Tap Tap for thank you notes and saying hi.

I checked out a few challenges this week and was immediately drawn to the inspiration challenge from Stampin’Royalty SR#316 as the images sang Pool Party to me (one of my go to colours), but I came a bit unstuck with the gold as I don’t have any foil sheets or doilies yet so opted for embossing and the gold sequin trim.

I also really liked the sketch challenge over at TGIF Challenges #TGIFC42 so paired the two challenges together and came up with

Tap Tap Tap challenge card

I rotated the TGIF Challenge sketch (see below) to a portrait orientation and added the bow as I felt the typewriter wasn’t quite big enough. I’m also amazed that I willingly cut it out – I try to avoid fussy cutting.

#TGIFC42 Sketch challenge

I just wanted to wish all my Canadian friends in Ontario “Happy Family Day” and with weather like we have had over the last few days crafting was a far better option than venturing out into the -37 C (with the wind chill) we had on Saturday brrrr.

Simple Saturday – washi tape

Hi Crafty Pals,

Last week I went to the Canadian Blossoms team meeting, these events are always great fun as we get to chat, share business tips and create fun projects. Spending time with other demonstrators and sharing ideas is one of the many great benefits of being a demonstrator with Stampin’ Up!®.

If you’ve ever thought about joining now is a great time as until May 30th you be able to choose extra products in your starter kit. You normally get to choose $150 of product for $125, but for a limited time you can choose $195 (woot woot).

Back to our creations, this card gives you a sneak peek of one of the new in-colours and also some new washi tape from the up coming 2013 – 2014 Annual Catalogue. It was my first time using washi tape and I was surprised how easy it is. For those who aren’t sure (that was me) it is kind of like patterned sticky tape, easy to tear or cut and no need for adhesive. It is very forgiving if you do put it in the wrong place I found you can lift it and re-position (as long as you are careful).

A nice pearl accent in the centre of the flower would have blinged it up a bit, but I’m not really a sparkly girl!

Totally Sale-A-Bration

Hi Crafty Pals,

Well we are getting to the end of this years Sale-A-Bration (finishes 22nd March) so my next few cards are using Sale-A-Bration items. If I could vote for a stamp set to add to the new catalogue then no doubt it would be the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set. The phone box reminds me of England and growing up as you’d see them everywhere, but now I think they only have them in London.

Catch up of my latest three cards

Hi Crafty Pals,

I’ve been busy crafting, but not very busy blogging so this post is a catch up of my last few cards.

The first one is a follow up to my entry last week in the Paper Craft Crew Challenge. I tried my hand at the previous weeks challenge (twice) as I didn’t get it quite right the first time.

The sketch #23

and my first version.

Collage card pack

Hi everyone,

Last week I went to our Canadian Blossoms meeting and our make and take was a very pretty pack of 4 cards using the Clockworks Wood-Mount Stamp Set and a collage technique (see photo below). It was the first time I’d used the notecards and I’ll definitely be using them again.

I really liked the vellum envelope that we made to keep them all in. The final set would make a great gift or a nice demo at a workshop.
